同音词，即发音完全一致然而拼写及意思不同的一类单词。

例子：

　　易混淆词，与同音词是两个概念，易混淆词是拼写或发音相近，小朋友容易读错搞错的一类词语。除了发音上的茶别，也应根据句子前后内容加以判断。

　　I see her swimming in the hotel pool．水池，池子

　　He grew up in a poor family．穷困的，可怜的

　　Just pull the door and come in please．拉

　　Would do like to have a Coke？可乐

　　My mother cooks everyday．She is a good cook．煮饭（动词），厨师（名词）

　　Don’t be sad！Every thing will be ok．难过的。（字母a发音为大嘴ae）

　　He said sorry．说（say的过去式）（ai发音为小嘴e）

　　May is more clever than her sister．比。。。。更

　　I’m going to read the English book，and then I will go to bed．然后，之后
