Sally : They're in the garden. They like our new home too. Do you know why? Dad : Why, Sally? Sally : Because they can play in the garden all day! Unit 2 -Look and read: Why do wild geese change homes? Wild geese have busy lives. They fly from oneplace to another. They change homes twiceevery year. In spring, they fly north. In autumn, they fly south. Why do wild geesemove around so much? In winter, they cannot find enough food in the north, so they flysouth in autumn. Then in spring, it is warm inthe north, so they fly back. Unit 3 In the future -Listen and say

"Don't wait until tomorrow." Unit 6 Holidays -Listen and say Where will we stay? How long will we stay in Sanya? Kitty: Mum and Dad, what are we going to do this summer? Dad: Let's go to Sanya. It's a wonderful place for a holiday. Kitty: Great! How do we get there? Dad: We get there by plane. Ben: Where will we stay? Mum: We'll stay in a hotel by the sea. Kitty: How long will we stay in Sanya? Dad: We'll stay there for five days. Ben: What will we do there? Mum: Sanya has beautiful beaches with clear water. We'll go swimming there. We'll also have seafood. The seafood there tastes great! Unit 6 Holidays -Look and read Welcome to Sanya! Sanya is on Hainan Island. It is in the south of China. There are many wonderful beaches on the island and the weather is nice all year round. You can swim under the blue sky and the warm sun. Sanya is a great place for families. You can visit the Sea World. You will love the fish and sea plants there. There is a big butterfly park in Sanya too. You will see many beautiful butterflies there. Come and visit Sanya now! Unit 7 Open Day -Listen and say First, they’ll visit our classroom. The Open Day is on 30th April. Ms Guo is asking the children about the day. Ms Guo: Children,your parents will come to our school at two o'clock in the afternoon. I'll meet them at the school gate. What will they do first? Can you tell me? Kitty: First, they'll visit our classroom. Ms Guo: That's right. What will they do next? Joe: Next, they'll visit the art room. Alice: Then they'll go to the hall. School Open Day It is two o'clock in the afternoon. Ms Guo welcomes the parents at the school gate. First, Ms Guo takes the parents to the classroom. She tells them about the lessons. Next, they go to the art room. The children show their parents some beautiful pictures. Then they go to the hall. The children sing for their parents. After that, they go to the library. They look at the homework and projects on the board. Finally, they have tea and cakes with the teachers in the meeting room. He likes beautiful clothes. One day, a man visits him with some nice clothes. "Which shirt do you like?" the man asks. "I like the green one," says the emperor. "I also have some magic clothes for you. They're in this box," says the man. "Only clever people can see them!" The emperor cannot see any clothes, but he nods with abig smile. The man cries, "Oh, the emperor is so clever!" The emperor puts on the "new clothes" and gives the man a lot of money. The emperor walks in the street in his "new clothes". People keep quiet, but a child laughs, "Look! He isn't wearing any clothes!" Unit 9 Seeing the doctor -Listen and say You should take some medicine . You shouldn’t go to bed late. Kitty is not feeling well. She is ill. Her mum takes her to the hospital. Kitty: What's wrong with you? Doctor: I have a headache. Miss Li: She has a fever too. Doctor: Let me have a look. People can travel from one place to another very fast. Joe: I think... Well, I'm going to invent something myself. Ms Guo: Great! What are you goingto invent? Joe: I'm going to invent a flying bike! People can go anywhere with it. Unit 10 Great inventions - Read a story A flying machine Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright are brothers. They like to invent things. One day, they are watching somebirds flying in the sky. They want to fly too! "We should invent a flying machine!" says Wilbur. "Great!" says Orville. "But how?" "First, we'll watch how the birds fly. Next,we'll draw a picture of our flying machine. Then we'll build it. Finally, we'll fly like birds!" Unit 11 Chinese festival -Listen and say The Spring Festival comes in January or February every year. It is an important Chinese festival. People also call it Chinese New Year. On Chinese New Year's Eve, families have a big dinner together. They often eat fish and dumplings. People visit their friends and relatives. Children often get red packets with some money in them. People also watch fireworks at night. /They like the beautiful fireworks very much. Unit 11 Chinese festival -Read a story The story of Nian Nian is a monster. He lives in the hills. At the end of every year, he goes into the village and eats people! One day, an old man comes to the village. Nian is afraid of the colour red. Soon it is the last day of the year. Nian comes down from the hills. He sees red paper on the doors and windows. He also sees red firecrackers. He feels afraid and runs back into the hills. The people in the village never see Nian again. They use red things and light firecrackers at the Spring Festival every year. Unit 12 The giant’s garden A giant lives in a big house with a beautiful garden. Children like to play in the garden. They have a lot of fun there. The giant finds the children in his garden. He is very angry. Get out! Get out. The giant builds a tall wall around his garden . Now the children cannot play in his garden. Soon Miss Spring comes. She brings beautiful flowers and birds, but she does not bring any to the giant's garden. "It's cold here. Where'sMiss Spring?" The giant looks at his garden and feels sad. Miss Spring, Miss Summer and Miss Autumn do not visit the giant. It is always winter in the giant's garden. I don't like the giant. He's not kind to children.
