1．it→that　句意为：在很多方面，美国的教育体系和英国的教育体系大体一致。指代上文的名词education system，用that，而且后面有介词短语作后置定语。故将it改为that。

2．删除the　句意为：我碰巧读了一篇关于林巧稚医生的文章。固定搭配by chance意为“碰巧；偶然地”。故删除the。

3．have→has　using chemical fertilizers为动名词短语作主语，谓语动词要用第三人称单数。故将have改为has。

4．worked→working　句意为：我在海上航行和现在和学生在一起一样快乐。使用非谓语动词作状语，I和work是逻辑上的主动关系，用现在分词形式，故将worked改为working。

5．should→need　句意为：我喜欢周末，因为周六和周日我不需要早起。根据句意可知，周六、周日不需要早起，故将should改为need。

6．删除a　have fun意为“玩得开心”。fun为不可数名词，故删除a。

7．were→was　A together with/with/as well as/including B结构中谓语动词用单数还是复数取决于A，此句中应用单数形式，故将were改为was。

8．Unless→While/Although/Though　句意为：尽管一些人被成功的渴望驱使着，但是其他人却是被失败的恐惧驱使前进。根据句意可知上下文之间存在转折关系，并且强调二者的对比。while强调前后的转折关系。也可用although或though，故将Unless改为While/Although/Though。
