2015年清华大学外国留学生研究生项目招生简章

1. 项目介绍

清华大学目前有38个院系的95个硕士专业和79个博士专业招收外国留学生，其中有13个专业开设了全英文硕士学位项目（招生院系和专业请见专业目录）。攻读硕士学位的留学生学习年限一般为二年至三年；攻读博士学位的留学生学习年限一般为四年。研究生修业期满，成绩合格并通过论文答辩者颁发毕业证书，经学位审查合格者，授予硕士学位或博士学位。

除全英文授课项目外，研究生项目一般采用中文或中英文双语教学。

2. 申请条件

申请者应身心健康、品行端正、具有相应学历，并具有相应的汉语水平。

(1) 报考硕士研究生, 应具有与中国大学学士学位相当的学位。

(2) 报考博士研究生, 应具有与中国大学硕士学位相当的学位。

(3) 语言要求：

(a)中文授课项目的申请者应有的汉语水平：人文、社科、艺术、管理、新闻、法律项目申请者一般应在入学前通过汉语水平考试旧(HSK)6级或新HSK5级180分以上；理工科类项目申请者一般应在入学前通过汉语水平考试旧(HSK)4级或新HSK4级195分以上。

(b)全英文授课项目的申请者，英语水平要求参见各项目申请条件。

(c)博士研究生项目的申请者，如英语水平较高，对某些专业可适当降低汉语水平要求。

3. 申请方式

第一步：网上申请

通过清华大学外国留学生工作办公室网站(http://is.tsinghua.edu.cn)进行在线申请（MBA、 GMBA及FMBA项目申请者除外），提交所需申请信息，待申请状态变为“审核通过”时，打印出系统自动生成的《清华大学外国留学生研究生项目申请表》，由申请者本人签名，贴上2寸近期照片。

第二步：提交申请材料

中文授课项目

中文授课项目申请者，请将以下申请材料上传至在线申请系统（上传文件的格式要求参见系统说明）:

(1) 个人陈述，博士学位申请者另需提供简要的研究经历。

(2) 学位证明（或预毕业证明，获得学位证书后需补交）。

硕士项目申请者，须提交学士学位证明；博士项目申请者，须提交硕士学位证明及学士学位证明。

(3) 成绩单。

硕士项目申请者，须提交本科期间完整的成绩单；博士项目申请者，须提交硕士及本科期间完整的成绩单。

(4) HSK成绩证明（经申请获准者，可免）。

(5) 二位副教授或相应职称以上的学者的推荐信(需写明推荐人电话及email地址)。

(6) 申请者个人普通护照（个人信息页）。

(7) 申请经济管理学院或五道口金融学院者提交GRE或GMAT成绩证明。

*报考美术学院者需提交作品集原件和已发表的论文，具体要求参见招生专业目录。

全英文授课项目

全英文授课项目申请者，请直接将申请材料提交至相关院系，申请材料要求见各项目介绍。

第三步：缴纳申请费

申请者可通过以下两种方式缴纳申请费600元人民币：

(1)使用信用卡进行网上支付。申请者收到网付订单电子邮件后，按邮件要求在申请系统“我的申请”列表中查看需缴纳申请费的申请项目，点击支付按钮后可见系统接受的信用卡类型，即可按照系统提示进行网上支付；

(2)本人或委托他人到清华大学外国留学生工作办公室（紫荆22号楼120室）缴纳人民币现金。

第四步：提交申请材料原件

被预录取者，需在2015年5月31日前提交申请者本人签字的《清华大学外国留学生研究生项目申请表》原件（贴2寸近期照片）以及申请材料中(1)～(7)项材料原件。提示：各种证明、证书须是中文或英文的原件或公证件。学位证明和成绩单原件必须由毕业学校官方密封，公证件须由公证部门官方密封。原件或公证件将由我校作为学生档案保存，不予退还。应届毕业生可在报到注册时补交学位证和成绩单原件或公证件。提供材料不合格者，不予正式录取。申请材料恕不退还。

4. 奖学金

符合中国政府奖学金申请条件的申请者，可通过本国有关部门和中国驻外使领馆推荐，直接向中国国家留学基金管理委员会（CSC）(http://www.csc.edu.cn) 申请中国政府奖学金，申请时间一般为上年11月至当年4月，各个国家申请截止时间不同，请注意提前查询。申请此奖学金时如需提供清华大学预录取证明，请提前与清华大学外国留学生工作办公室联系。

申请者亦可通过清华大学推荐，申请中国政府奖学金。但此类中国政府奖学金推荐名额较少，且仅限于目前未在中国学习的优秀外国学生。

除中国政府奖学金以外，硕士项目申请者也可选择申请北京市外国留学生奖学金，博士项目申请者可申请清华大学外国留学生奖学金。这两类奖学金目前只用于减免全额、半额或部分学费。

有关奖学金的具体信息及申请办法，请查询清华大学外国留学生工作办公室网站。

5. 申请时间

中文授课研究生项目第一轮网申及上传书面材料时间：2014年11月1日至2014年12月31日

第二轮网申及上传书面材料时间：2015年1月1日至2015年2月27日

五道口金融学院的清华-康奈尔双学位工商管理（金融方向）硕士项目（FMBA）的申请截止日期为2015年3月31日。

全英文授课研究生项目申请时间：开始时间及截止日期具体见各项目介绍。

申请中国政府奖学金及其它奖学金者，须在2015年1月15日之前完成网上申请并上传书面材料。

6. 审核与测试

采用申请材料审核加测试方式进行考核和录取。

经相关院系专家组审查，遴选出进入测试的人选。测试方式及时间由我校确定并通知申请者。

7. 查询及录取通知

测试合格的申请者，经清华大学外国留学生招生录取委员会审批通过后方可录取。录取结果可通过清华大学外国留学生工作办公室网站在线申请系统查询（MBA、GMBA及FMBA项目到原报名网站查询）。被录取者，由清华大学外国留学生工作办公室发给《录取通知书》、《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》(JW202或JW201表)、《外国人体格检查表》，其中中国政府奖学金获得者（不包括通过清华大学申请该奖项者），录取文件由奖学金受理机构发给本人。

8. 签证申请及入学报到

被录取者应持普通护照、《录取通知书》、《外国来华留学人员签证申请表》、《外国人体格检查记录》及所有体格检查报告原件前往中国驻留学生所在国使（领）馆办理来华签证。需在校内住宿者，应按照学校要求，在规定时间内预订留学生公寓。最后，持以上材料按《录取通知书》规定的日期到清华大学外国留学生工作办公室办理入学报到手续。入学者必须持个人普通护照和X1签证入境，并在入境后30天内办好居留许可申请手续。

9．住宿预订

由于校内留学生公寓房间数量有限，只有在规定时间内预订成功的学生才能住在留学生公寓(中国政府全额奖学金获得者的房间由学校提前预留，学生本人无需预订)。留学生公寓的房间类型有单人间（独立卫生间）、AB间（两人共用一个卫生间）和双人间（每层有公共卫生间）。房间内有被褥、彩色电视机、空调、电话、网络插口、家具等。

未能成功预订留学生公寓的学生，需自行联系校外住宿。

清华-伯克利深圳学院的留学生公寓由深圳大学城提前预留，学生本人无需预定。

10. 费用（人民币元）

2015 Graduate Programs for International Students of

Tsinghua University

1. Introduction

Tsinghua University offers 95 Master and 79 Doctoral programs to international students (see Appendix for the catalog of programs). Master programs are usually completed in 2-3 years, and Doctoral programs 4 years. Certificates of graduation and degree will be awarded to those who have met the requirements of graduation and degree conferment.

Thirteen of the Master programs are offered in English, and the others are offered in Chinese or bilingually in Chinese and English.

2. Qualification of Applicants

(1) Applicants for Master programs should have a Bachelor degree.

(2) Applicants for Doctoral programs should have a Master degree.

(3) Language skills requirements:

(a) For programs offered in Chinese: Applicants for programs of humanities,social sciences,art, management, journalism and law should pass Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) band 6 or new HSK band 5−above score 180, and those for science and engineering programs should pass Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) band 4 or new HSK band 4−above score 195.

(b) For programs offered in English: See the requirements of the programs.

(c) For Doctoral Program applicants: If the English proficiency is sufficient, the Chinese language requirement could be adjusted for some majors.

3. Application Procedure

Step 1: Online Application

Complete On-line Application on the website of International Students Office, Tsinghua University (http://is.tsinghua.edu.cn). Print, sign and attach 2-inch photo on the application form produced by the system after the application status changes to “verified”.

For Tsinghua-Cornell Dual Degree FMBA Program, please apply through website: http://apply.fmba.pbcsf.tsinghua.edu.cn

Step 2: Documents Submission

Application documents for programs offered in Chinese: Please upload application documents listed below to the Online Application System of International Students Office, and check the format requirements of the uploaded documents on the instructions of the system.

(1) Personal statement. Doctoral program applicants also need to submit brief introduction of research experience.

(2) Degree certificate. (Those who have not graduated yet shall offer a proof of education in current academic institution and academic transcript.) Master program applicants need to submit bachelor degree certificate. Doctoral program applicants need to submit both master and bachelor degree certificates.

(3) Academic transcript. Master program applicants need to submit academic transcript of undergraduate study. Doctoral program applicants need to submit academic transcripts of both graduate and undergraduate studies.

(4) HSK certificate and score report (unless a waiver is approved).

(5) Two academic recommendation letters from scholars of associate professorship or higher (must show referee’s phone number and email address on the letter).

(6) The page with personal information in the passport (personal and ordinary passport).

(7) GRE or GMAT certificate if apply to School of Economics and Management/PBC School of Finance.

*Original portfolio and thesis if apply to Academy of Arts and Design. For detailed Information，please check Appendix for the catalog of programs.

Application documents for programs offered in English. Please check the homepage of English offered programs to get the information of application documents and submit the application documents to the relevant department/school.

Step 3：Application Fee Payment

Two ways to pay application fee: RMB 600

1. Pay online using credit card;

Applicant will receive an email of the online payment draft, and should pay the application fee via the online application system.

2. Pay in cash at the International Students Office (Room 120, Zijing Building 22) of Tsinghua University.

Step4：Original Application Documents Submission

Those who are conditionally admitted by Tsinghua University shall submit all the original application documents listed above and the signed “Foreigner’s Application Form for Admission to Graduate Programs of Tsinghua University” with 2-inch recent photo, no later than May 31, 2015. The documents provided should be in Chinese or in English; otherwise notarial translations in Chinese or English are required. All the original or the notarial degree certificates and academic transcripts must be officially sealed and will be permanently kept in students’ archives by the university. None of the above application documents will be returned.Those who will obtain the degree certificate after May 31, 2015 may submit the original or notarial degree certificate and transcript upon registration at Tsinghua University. Students are not officially admitted if application documents are not qualified.

4. Scholarship

The qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS). Applicants should apply to China Scholarship Council (CSC) (Website: http://www.csc.edu.cn) through the recommendations from Chinese Embassies or Consulates, or relevant organizations in the home countries of the applicants between November and April (varied for different countries). Please find out the application deadline for your country in advance. Certificate of conditional acceptance should be applied from International Students Office beforehand if necessary.

The applicants may also apply for Chinese Government Scholarship with the recommendations from Tsinghua University. But the number of the recommended applicants is very limited, and the applicants should be excellent among those who are not currently studying in China.

In addition to Chinese Government Scholarship,the applicants may choose to apply for Beijing Government Scholarship(for Master’s Programs)/Tsinghua University Scholarship(for Doctoral Programs), which supports full,half or partial tuition.

5. Application Schedule

Graduate Programs offered in Chinese:

Both the online application and the uploaded application documents should be completed no later than February 27, 2015.

Please note that for the Government or other scholarship applicants, online application and all the application documents should be uploaded before January 15, 2015.

Application deadline for Tsinghua-Cornell Dual Degree FMBA Program：March 31, 2015.

Graduate programs offered in English: the application schedule specified by the programs.

6. Review and Examination

The admission committee in the department/school will review the application documents and select applicants for further examination or interview. The applicants selected will be notified.

7. Inquiry and Admission Notice

The applicants who pass the examination or interview, and be approved by Tsinghua University International Student Admission Committee will be finally admitted. Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202/JW201), and Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners will be issued by International Students Office. Admission documents of Chinese Government Scholarship holders will be issued by recommended scholarship organizations (excluded the scholarship holders recommended by Tsinghua University). Prior to this, the applicants may check admission status via the On-line Application System on the website of International Students Office. (For MBA, GMBA and FMBA applicants, please check on the respective MBA program website).

8. Visa Application and Registration

The admitted students should bring their personal and ordinary passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202/ JW201), and original Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners as well as other original documents of physical examination to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China, and apply for student visa (X1 visa). Students who intend to live in the dormitory on campus shall apply for the room on line during the dates specified on the university instructions. Students shall come to International Students Office, Tsinghua University for registration during the dates indicated on the Admission Notice with the aforementioned documents. Students must enter Mainland China with ordinary passport, X1 visa, and must apply for Residence Permit within 30 days after arrival in China.

9. Accommodation Reservation

Due to the limitation of dormitory capacity, on-campus rooms can only be reserved for those who have successfully applied on line. For Chinese Government full scholarship holders, the dormitory on campus will be reserved by the university. Tsinghua University offers three different types of rooms to international students: Single Room (Private bathroom/toilet), AB Room (Shared bathroom/toilet), and Double Room (Public bathroom and toilet). Included with each room are bedclothes, color TV, air-conditioning, telephone, internet access and furniture.

Those who fail to apply for the dorm on line need to find the accommodation off campus by themselves.

Students of UC Berkeley-Tsinghua Joint Institute(in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province) do not need to apply for accommodation on campus by themselves, their rooms in student apartments will be reserved after they have been admitted into the Institute.
